Philip Simon

Philip currently serves as The Executive Director of The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and is responsible for managing its daily affairs with special emphasis to the ongoing efforts in the area of trade liberalization.

Previously, Philip was employed as the General and Investment Manager for Shipston Group Ltd., a diversified international investment holding company. At Shipston Group, Philip was extensively involved in the management and development of a broad array of local and international companies, providing both technical and financial expertise.

He has served on the Boards of Bahamas Fast Ferries, The Bahamas Venture Capital Fund, Bahamas Adventures and Tours, and the Bahamas National Pride Association (Challenge Grant Fund Administrator). As a private consultant, Mr. Simon has focused his business acumen primarily in the areas of new venture creation and emerging growth companies. Currently, Philip is one of National Consultants to the Government and IDB on the Education and Training for Economic Competitiveness (ETC) Project.

His educational includes Associates degrees in Physics and Mathematics (The College of The Bahamas, 1992), Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (Texas Tech University, Cum Laude/ 1996), and an MBA with concentrations in Entrepreneurship and Finance (University of Maryland, 1998).
