Maria Ferere is a Chartered Accountant and a partner at Ernst & Young, an international accounting firm and one of the world's leading professional services organizations. She currently serves as the partner responsible for Corporate Recovery and Restructuring Services.

Mrs. Ferere is a member of the International Women's Forum and the 1998 recipient of that organization's prestigious Leadership Foundation Fellowship award. She is a past president of the Zonta Club of Nassau and a member of the Nassau Chapter of Links, Inc, both international service organizations. She also serves on the Boards of the Salvation Army and the Endowment for the Performing Arts.

Mrs. Ferere is a 1974 graduate of St. Augustine's College, Nassau and a 1979 graduate of the University of Dayton, Ohio with a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Languages.
